Serpent spine.

Overview.

The client arrived with a single sentence: a serpent for shedding an old life. Mara designed a full-spine composition that follows the vertebrae — head resting between the shoulder blades, tail dissolving above the hips.

CHALLENGE

Spines move with every breath. The design had to hold symmetry standing, sitting and bending — so the stencil was fitted in three postures before lining began.

APPROACH

Three sessions: spine linework, body shading, then head detail and final contrast. Healed photos at eight weeks confirmed edges held perfectly along the column.
