Overview.

A grandmother's portrait for the inside of a forearm — the most-viewed square inches of skin a person owns. Mara restaged the reference from a faded print into a high-contrast study before drawing began.

CHALLENGE

The only source photo was small and soft. Mara rebuilt missing detail from two additional family photographs, keeping likeness honest rather than invented.

APPROACH

Three layered sessions: soft wash foundation, mid-tone structure, then eyes and final contrast. The client cried at the stencil stage — always a good sign.
